A Brief List of Propositions
This list is under construction and always will be. It is much like a to-do list. First--once below the things you want me to do--is a brief introduction to a few things to which I would like to bring attention, and following below that is a list of things that may be considered for adding to the "Particular" pages named. Last appearing are a few points having to do with the formalization (and thus the amount of trust that can be given to any topics found here) of all information appearing on this wiki.
Things That You Want ME To Do
- Bullet them. Bold important/high priority ones.
- Yes, I am a "Grammar Nazi." Employ me.
On the Presentation of this Wiki
As I have stated several times before, the presentation of this Wiki is still in need of much attention. I very well understand that the lacking count of active contributing members is the primary reason for this as having such leaves little to the promotion of organization and similar, useful hierarchies. Also, while I recognize the current priority of these fields as sensible, I would like to offer a strong, sectioned restructure of what already exists. Please continue reading on this below "On the Current Hangeul Presentation." Note: I'll be referring to specific examples of things about which I speak with the sort of informal name of Particulars. The most recently defined Particular is the one of which I will speak in the following articles, or, at times, the website to which I address a short review.
Reformation for the Presentation to Beginners
I will come back to this later.
On the Hangeul Section
I'll detail my thoughts on this soon.
On the Current Learning Presentation
- Lack of Links : What bothers me perhaps most of all the things while navigating this Wiki is the lack of netted links, one of the prime features of a Wiki. If I am allowed, I will insert bracketed links over all entries I feel deserve them. The only thing preventing me from doing so at this moment is the lack of knowledge over the organization of this wiki (and which links already have a page for them; so as not to be redundant and recreate these pages, I wish to know this).
- Particular: http://www.koreanwikiproject.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hangeul_step_6#Diphthongs
- Notice the titles of each letter written in either the red or blue boxes. It is here where links would be most useful. If formatting affects this to such a degree as to degrade the overall appearance in the current manner, I would suggest attaching such a link to the images of the letters or an otherwise easily recognized and large object.
- (Proposal rescinded) Page Expansion : Perhaps most frustrating to my eyes is the lack of page expansion to accommodate larger, widescreen monitors. I do not mean the basic frame of the site, but rather the content within it. Again referring to this article's Particular, I see the horizontally centered table of words to be a thing of annoyance in that rest of the page is left blank. To my eyes it's a gaping hole of white that needs to be filled with some sort of content, but at the same time I suspect that it's just my personality and ridiculous monitor corrupting my opinion.
On Addressing the Empty Articles
I'll detail my thoughts on this soon.
- Propose orthology in pronunciation of letters
- Check versus native speakers' opinions
- Further revision requires revision of existing materials. See below.
On the Current Materials
- Revise "Aspiration" in http://www.koreanwikiproject.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hangeul_step_4
- IMPORTANT: Detail criticism of ㅅ and its supposed "sound change" when found next to certain jamo. (Note: http://www.koreanwikiproject.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hangeul_step_4#.E3.85.85_reminder )
- Continue revision of "Learn Hangeul"
- Consider rewriting all of the lessons currently existing, changing them from first-person to third-person.
Of Formalization
On Citations of Resources
I'll detail my thoughts on this soon.
On the Ambiguity of Terms
I'll detail my thoughts on this soon.

Hi welcome. I see you're still trying to get hangeul down. Unfortunately our section's not finished. I start summer vacation in about a week then i'll be able to complete that section. Hopefully it'll be useful for you. --Bluesoju 00:34, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the 'hello'! I'm having some trouble memorizing the Diphthongs of Hangeul, but after that I have a feeling it will be a breeze. Tonight I will be putting a lot of effort into getting those down... I have already taken a look through some of your materials on learning Hangeul. I'll make use of what I can (I think I have a list of 20-some websites that I have been using. I'll give you a few ideas on what kind of learning tools worked best for me.) Don't worry too much about the incompleteness of your Hangeul learning section--the site already looks great! --Galinaros 00:56, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Recommended sources
If you're looking for resources on learning Hangeul and some other basic things, there are some really great sites listed at Language sites#From the Beginning. Like Chris said, we're planning on including Hangeul soon, but for now the wiki assumes Hangeul knowledge. Good luck! (I've actually never studied Spanish. I guess I've always just been interested in rare languages. I'm just happy I happened to learn Korean and have stuck with it since.) --Mstrum 03:04, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, Mstrm. I'm going through what you showed me now. ... Oh, and about learning Spanish: the school I'm in offers Latin, French, German, Spanish, and Japanese classes. Although I would have much rather have taken Latin, I was talked out of it. I still want to though... instead I'm stuck with Spanish. The Japanese course is underpopulated and a GPA killer, so I didn't really think about taking that one (despite the amount of anime I would rather watch without subtitles, lol). I'm hoping to go to a college that offers some sort of Korean language course, but that's a few years in the future... --Galinaros 20:05, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
