Description

Verb + (으)ㄹ까요 : Used in multiple ways with different, context dependent, meanings. It may express doubt, or function as a way for the speaker to ask a question of themselves. It can also be used to raise a question to an audience, or to suggest an action or activity. May be translated in a number of ways, including; "Shall we/I..?", "I wonder...", and "Do you think...?.

Notes

Pattern Case Example
Rule 1: Verb + ㄹ까요 If there is no 받침 or if the adjective/verb stem has ㄹ as a 받침 가다: 갈가요? 열다: 열까요?
Rule 2: Verb + 을까요 If there is a 받침 at the end of the adjective/verb stem 먹다: 먹을까요?
