Are you looking for the Hanja character 자? See: 자 (한자).
Description
V + 자 : This is used to suggest the listener they do some sort of action together. Similar to saying "Let's ~" in English. This pattern is considered 반말 and should not be used towards elders, strangers and in formal situations in general.
Notes
- Unlike a lot of grammar patterns, you cannot add 요 to make this more polite. For a more polite and formal form see ㅂ시다
Conjugation Rule
Pattern | Case | Example | |
---|---|---|---|
Rule 1: | Verb + 자 | If there is no 받침 or if the adjective/verb stem has ㄹ as a 받침 | 가다 → 가자 |
Rule 2: | Verb + 자 | If there is a 받침 at the end of the adjective/verb stem |
