Description
Verb + 고 있다 / Verb + 고 계시다: This pattern is used to express a continuing action or a process. Must be distinguished form V + 아/어 있다 which is used to express the existence of a state or a fact.
Notes
- The honorific form of this is V + 고 계시다.

- 읽다 (to read) --> 읽고 있다
- 씻다 (to wash) --> 씻고 있다
- 하다 (to do) --> 하고 있다
