Двойные согласные
Мы видели, что буквы ㅋ,ㅌ,ㅊ,ㅍ похожи на буквы ㄱ,ㄷ,ㅈ,ㅂ. Теперь мы выучим еще один набор похожих букв: ㄲ, ㄸ, ㅉ, ㅃ и ㅆ. Если вы заметили, они всего-лишь двойные версии букв ㄱ, ㄷ, ㅈ, ㅂ, ㅅ. Эти звуки не только самые сложные для объяснения, но и самые сложные для произношения для иностранцев, поскольку ничего похожего нет ни в русском, ни в английском ни в других языках. Во время прослушивания записей будьте, пожалуйста, очень внимательны и старайтесь отличать эти звуки от других. Общим для этих звуков является то, что они жестче и напряженнее изученных ранее согласных. Обратите внимание на то, что они никогда не бывают придыханными.
Дифтонги (двойные гласные)
Дифтонгами в корейском языке являются комбинации уже известных нам букв. Например, ㅘ - это комбинация ㅗ и ㅏ. Большинство из них произносятся как первая гласная и быстро следующая за ней вторая. Однако вы заметите, что все эти звуки (кроме ㅢ) создают звук /w/вначале.

 ㅙ is a combination of the vertical vowel ㅗ and the horizontal vowel ㅐ. This sounds you are pronouncing ㅗ and ㅐ together, but with a /w/ sound in front. Sounds similar to the 'wea' in "weapon." To make this sound, place everything in your mouth as if you were going to make a ㄷ sound, hold your tongue in that position for a slight second and 'push off' with more force than normal making the sound stronger. Writing
Writing the double consonants requires just writing the consonants we previously learned twice, so to write ㄲ you just write ㄱ twice. For the vowels in this section, you write the vertical vowel (ㅗ, ㅜ, ㅡ) before the horizontal vowel. So if you write ㅘ, you write ㅗ first, then ㅏ. A section 7 will be made in the future for more advanced pronunciation (notice we avoided ㅎ batchim examples? that was for a reason).
