Number Systems

Korean uses two different number systems, Sino Korean numbers(derived from Chinese) and native Korean numbers.

Approximating

• -쯤, -정도, 약- , -여- - About
  • 열개 쯤/ 열명 쯤 (열명= 10 people)
  • 열개 정도 / 열명 정도
  • 약 열개 / 약 열명
  • 십여개 / 십여명
• -이상 - At least
  • 열개 이상 / 열명 이상
• 한 - About. Often used in conjunction with 쯤
  • 한 열개 쯤 /한 열명 쯤
